Janet L. Allmon (Hofstetter) formerly of Montville, OH and Tucson, AZ, age 84, passed away April 17, 2020 at home in Orwell, OH following health complications with her loving family by her side.

Born September 16th, 1935 in Chesterland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Kasper and Thelma (Woodard) Hofstetter.  During her lifetime she worked in many roles. Janet worked for the American Society for Metals doing data entry for the Finance department and was a Switchboard Operator for Geauga Community Hospital and Manfredi Trucking Co.  Primarily through the years she worked as a Bookkeeper for Larry Miller CPA, and was a Legal Secretary for Attorneys William C. Collier, Milt Psenicka and Timothy Hartory. She always strived to stay busy and obtained her real estate license at KSU and worked part time for Bazil Realty Company for 15 years. Janet was a member of the Ohio Women’s Business Association and was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Burton, OH. She challenged herself and opened Laura Lynn Florist shop in Chardon, OH.  Embracing yet another challenge she took a risk and bought a house sight unseen in Tucson, AZ.  During her 15 years spent in the Arizona Desert she was a Certified Caretaker in her home for people with special needs.  She also managed to find the time to volunteer at the Arizona Children’s Home in Tucson and she had so much fun with her friends working the concession booths for the Colorado Rockies during spring training.

Janet was always on the go and enjoyed swimming and bowling.  Playing Bingo with friends at the Senior Center and taking bus trips to the Casinos were her favorites.  She enjoyed working on crafts, going to yard sales and attending craft shows with friends and family.   She liked to relax by reading her bible and mystery books. Feeding the pygmy goats their favorite tree branch snack was one of her daily fun things to do in the summertime.  Janet was a very giving person and was always helping others.  She was a social butterfly.  She was a loving, caring, determined, amazing woman and mother who embraced her faith in God.  She will be so sadly missed by her family, who she loved spending time with.

Survivors include her children, 2 sons Rodney Allmon of Tucson, AZ, Randy Allmon (Debbie) of Rock Creek, OH, and 2 daughters Gail Benard (Jim) of Fountain Valley, CA and Renee Reed (Ken) of Orwell, OH. Survivors also include her Grandchildren, Lucas Allmon, Tyler Allmon, Tonya Allmon, Aaron Allmon and Rachel Genet, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.   She is also survived by 3 siblings and their spouses Don Hofstetter (Jean) of Montville, OH, Dan Hofstetter (Joyce) of Lambertville, NJ and Nona (Rich) Healey of Egg Harbor, NJ.

She was preceded in death by her parents Kasper and Thelma Hofstetter, 5 siblings Kasper Hofstetter Jr, Loren Hofstetter, Wanda Poshedly, Corrine Ziegler and Neil Hofstetter.

Janet’s Memorial Service and Celebration Of Life with friends and family will be planned for a later date.
