Ima Jean (Jones) Hoffman

Ima Jean Hoffman, 94, a longtime resident of Huntsburg, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Ohman Family Living at Blossom with her family and friends at her bedside. She was born in Tampa, Florida on May 27, 1927, daughter of Rutherford and Katherine (Angle) Jones. She married Shirl J. Hoffman on September 14, 1946. They were married 67 years before he passed away on Dec. 14, 2013. They are “Together Again.”

Ima was a school bus driver for the Chardon Local School district for 25 years. She was a baptized member of the Huntsburg Baptist Church. She was a workaholic. She enjoyed being outdoors, enjoying her flower garden, trees, and shrubs. She enjoyed bowling and spending time at their Florida home. She loved being close with her family, and swimming with her grandchildren in her pool.

Ima will be dearly missed by her family and friends; her children, Nancy (Sid) Saunders of Huntsburg, Sandy (Richard) Gotham of Uniontown, Barb (Tom) Birks of Hughson, CA, Susan Hoffman of Middlefield, Chuck (Sally Hall) Hoffman of Leesburg, GA, and Patty (Dave) Fulop of Middlefield; her sister Sylvia Louise Ferriter of New Port Richey, FL, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Shirl, her parents, two sisters, and five brothers.

There will be Calling hours only. They will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield. Burial will be held on a later date at Huntsburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of Western Reserve, 17876 St Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110 or to Ohman Family Living at Blossom, 12496 Princeton Rd., Huntsburg, OH 44046.
