Geraldine Marie Tiber

Geraldine Marie (Ross) Tiber, 91, of Claridon, Ohio, born in Cleveland September 3, 1930, left this earth peacefully at her home on the morning of June 8, 2022. 

Affectionately known as Gee Gee by her 61 great grandchildren, she was also mom and grandma to just about anyone who was blessed to know her. 

Gerry’s life spoke Jesus loud and clear, as did her words because His praises were continually spoken out loud. She and husband, Paul, joyfully shared all they had, giving of their time and resources, wishing no one left out. Many have shared the blessing of Gerry’s hospitality in the use of their home and pool.  

She was graced with strength, wisdom, and unmatched hospitality. As a pastor’s wife for 45 years, and member of the New Testament Baptist Church for 60 years, she hosted countless church events and meals. She also provided a home to many young adults for a time in life’s journey when it was needed most. 

Gerry was an instrument of love for her Savior and the many souls who found salvation through her words and deeds. 

She was ready to go to her eternal home but wasn’t called until God granted her rest from her lifelong service of compassion, generosity, kindness, and unconditional love. 

She is survived by her nine children, Debra Shababy (Larry), Laurie Taylor (Lowell), Cynthia Taylor (Jeff, deceased), Karen Miller (Mark), David Tiber (Lois), Melanie Wantz (Bobby, deceased), Charles Tiber (Nancy), Amy Byler (Sean), Jonathan Tiber (Gina), and Ruth Goff; also, by her 32 grandchildren who were always nearby; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Tiber; granddaughter, Mara Pleva; great-grandson, Caleb Miller; sister, Thelma Tiber; brother, James Ross; brother-in-law, David Tiber; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Rowney. 

A graveside service will be held June 12, 2022, at East Claridon Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. The family requests everyone to meet at the New Testament Baptist Church of Claridon, 12199 Claridon-Troy Rd at 2:00PM to form processional to the cemetery. 

Calling hours will be held, Sunday, June 19, 2022, from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the New Testament Baptist Church, where a memorial service will follow at 6:00PM.

I have set the Lord always before me, because he is at my right hand. In your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures for evermore.
