Gerald G Wantz

Gerald G. “Jerry” Wantz, 68, passed away on February 17, 2025, at Heritage of Hudson in Hudson, Ohio. Born on October 11, 1956, in Chardon, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ronald and Gloria (Dines) Wantz. Gerald spent his entire life in Geauga County, growing up in Troy Township.

He worked alongside his father in the family business, Wantz Construction, where he took great pride in his work. Gerald was known for his cheerful nature and kind spirit. He found joy in cooking, taking long walks, watching classic westerns, and spending time playing cards and games with family and friends.

Gerald will be deeply missed by his brothers, Ken Wantz and Ron Wantz Jr.; his sisters, Cindy Bilski and Barb Wantz; nephews Dan, David, Michael, Allen and niece Layla and many other loving family members and friends.
Beside his parents, and stepmom Mary Wantz, he was preceded in death by his brother Dennis Wantz.

Calling hours will be from 11:00-12:00 PM on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, and the Funeral at 12:00 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home. 15670 West High Street Middlefield.  Pastor Sherry Mehaffie will be officiating. 
 

Burial will take place immediately following at Shadyside Cemetery in Auburn Township Ohio.
