Genevieve Pearl Bontrager, 84 of Auburn Township, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Burton Health Care. She was born on April 24, 1937, in Homedale, Idaho, daughter of the late Arthur and Rosa (Dines) Thompson. Genevieve married Henry Bontrager and they were married 40 years before he died in 1996.
She was a home health care worker for years and was a taxi driver for the Amish. She enjoyed reading and sewing. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Genevieve is survived by her children, Lincoln Bontrager, Karen J Bontrager, Matthew (Mardith) Bontrager, Darrell Bontrager, and Kevin (Julie) Bontrager, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren with one on the way, her brother Richard (Vivian) Thompson, four sisters, Alta Byington, Sharon (Ed) Cox, Mary Covey, Lynette Quinn, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Henry M Bontrager, second husband Cletis Arrowood, her sister Linda Peterson and four brothers, Arthur, Martin, Douglas, and Glenn Thompson.
Calling hours will be held 5:00-8:00 PM Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St. in Middlefield. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 11, 2021, at the Funeral Home.
