Gary “Gabby” Dallas Baise, 71, of Middlefield, Ohio, formerly of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
He was born to the late Theodore Roosevelt & Gertie Mae (Nicely) Baise on June 14, 1951, in Huntington, West Virginia. Gary served in the US Army as a helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam War. He was a long-time resident of Middlefield and had his own painting company, Gary Baise Painting for 35 years.
Gary was an avid sports fan who loved hunting, fishing for perch and walleye, having a huge vegetable garden and spending time with all of his grandkids.
Gary will be greatly missed by his wife of 47 years, Rosanne (Hess), as well as his children Timothy (Tracie) Baise, Leslie Baise, Lisa (Jason) Janus, Gary (Amanda) Baise Jr, Emily Baise, Greg (Renee) Baise, and John Baise, his 19 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, two sisters Loretta Millard and Phyllis (Don) Wheeler, and two brothers Carl “Bernard” and Doug Baise.
Gary was preceded in death by siblings Billy Joe, James Henry, Jerry Dan, Theordore “Junior”, Roy Lee, Norman “Bo”, Andy Allen, Betty Sue, Gloria Jean and Joyce Ann Ferguson.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 26, 2022, from 4 to 7 PM at the Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St. Middlefield OH 44062. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Montville Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made in Gary’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
