Gary Barath, age 68, of Middlefield, passed away peacefully in his sleep August 11, 2022
He was born July 20, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio to Patricia Bates a woman he never was able to meet in person, but lovingly gave him for adoption to Anna and John Barath who loved him deeply.
Gary was raised on a dairy farm in Windsor Ohio and proudly graduated from Grand Valley High School and THE Ohio State University. He spent his career as an educator with a dedication to those with special needs.
Gary was a man who cherished his family time,
and set an example of integrity and wisdom, inspiring all who knew him. A father to his children and many of their friends. He loved to be the coach and first supporter and cheer section for all his grandkids.
Gary was a movie quote and trivia lover, horticulture genius, grill master, alleged cheater at euchre, pit bull dog lover, die hard Cleveland sports fan, forever bled Scarlet and Gray.
Gary will be deeply missed by his family including his loving wife of 43 years Annette. Daughter Jillian, daughter Cari and son Thomas. Grandchildren Jude Cunningham, Asher Cunningham, Ava Zinsmeister, Tyler Zinsmeister, Rykan Barath and Harlow Barath. Sister Monica (Don) Morris, brother Joe Noton and countless foster brothers and sisters. Lifelong childhood friend Harry Peck and longtime friend Roman Jarema. His loyal companion dog, Eddie.
He was preceded in death by his parents Anna and John and sister Darla
There will be a gathering for family and friends on September 18, 2022, from 2-8pm at Swine Creek Reservation Lodge at 16004 Hayes Road, Middlefield, OH.
