Esther B. (Byler) Ricer

Esther B. Ricer, 78 of Colebrook, Ohio passed away at her home Saturday May 2, 2026, with her loving family by her side.  She was born November 23, 1947, to the late John and Mary (Detweiler) Byler. She was a member of the Northeast Community Church in Burton, Ohio. Esther was a homemaker, avid gardener, and bird watcher.  

She will be missed by her husband of 57 years Charles “Charlie” Ricer, children, Amy Austin, Albert (Amy) Ricer, Tammy (Rob) Roushey, Mark Ricer, 8 grandchildren, She is all so survived by her brother, John “Smily” (Betz) Byler, sisters, Sarah (Allen) Fisher, and Emma Durham.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Melvin “Jim” Detweiler, Dan, Andy, Jake, and Eli “Bim” Byler.  

Calling hours will be held Thursday May 7, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St. Middlefield, OH. 44062.  Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Friday May 8, 2026, at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Claridon Center Cemetery.
