Elizabeth “Betty” M. Szilagyi, 81 of Middlefield, formerly of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday May 6, 2020 at Briar Hill Nursing Home. She was born July 9, 1938 in Connellsville, PA to the late George and Irene (Borsodi) Pollock. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Cleveland, Ohio in 1956. Betty worked for Ohio Bell and retired as a clerk at the Federal Building in Cleveland. She formerly attended Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Betty enjoyed gardening, shopping, taking walks, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her sons, Alex (Rebecca) Szilagyi, Michael (Carmen) Pollock, daughter, Sandi Szilagyi, her grandchildren, Livia, Sofia, Michelle, Jeanette, Patrick, Stephanie, Nicholas, sister, Emma (Art) Mondak, a good friend, Gloria Hurka, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Sullivan, and a brother, George Pollock.
A Graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Elizabeth Szilagyi to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
