Elizabeth "Betty" A. (Klonowski) Klecha

At 7:03pm on March 21, 2025, Elizabeth Antonette Klecha (Klonowski), departed her earthly existence on her 89th birthday. She was surrounded by many of her loving family who gathered to celebrate her birthday. God’s plan was the privilege to pray and sing over her as she journeyed to her heavenly home to meet her Lord and Savior, and at last be reunited with her husband Daniel.  

She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She knew in her heart she was ready to leave God’s green earth for her heavenly reward, and she constantly encouraged her family to “Go and live your life!” 

In 2021, she was preceded in her heavenly journey by her husband of 63 years, Daniel.  Also preceding her were her parents Anton in 1965 and Anna in 2000, her brother Paul in 2018, and her granddaughter Amanda in 2004.

Betty was born at home in 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio on her father's birthday. Growing up she helped in the family business, Klonowski Brothers Bakery. She graduated from St. Stanislaus High School in 1954, where she had been a cheerleader for both basketball and football.  She volunteered time working with children at the St. Vincent’s Children Home.  She was an avid Elvis Presley fan, and an early member of his fan club.   After high school she was employed at the Society for Savings Bank while attending night school at Fenn College taking business classes. 

In the spring of 1957 she met Daniel, known by family as “Buzzy” because of his buzzing in and out.  After a whirlwind romance they married on November 23, 1957. Dan lovingly called her Betty Ann.  

In 1969 they moved their family from Garfield Heights to Mesopotamia Ohio. Betty was a lifelong stay at home mother and homemaker; enjoyed riding her horse; tending her garden and plants; raising her eight children; shepherding her flock of sheep. Betty loved her farm animals, chickens, ducks, rabbits, pigs, dogs and cats. She played the piano, guitar, and accordion; loved country western music, enjoyed singing, and was a great polka dancer 

Betty was a lifelong student of The Bible and the teaching of her Savior, Jesus Christ. 

She is survived by her sisters, Dia and husband Leon, and Grace, nephews Bradly and Richard, niece Evonne, great niece Paige, and great-great nephew Jayden. 

Her legacy lives on thru her eight children; Antoinette – Toni & Ipper, Elizabeth – Liz & Thomas, Daniel - Chris & Sharon, Nathan & Crystal, Anton – Andy & Laura, Phillip & Cindy, Audra & Ryan, and Sarah. 

She was lovingly called Gramma Buzzy by her 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. William & Tabitha: Cadence, Aubrey, Liam, Andrew, Robert & Brooke: Jacen, Elijah, Angeline & Jackson: Olivia, Isabella, Benjamin, Amanda – who preceded her in death, Micah and partner Annie, Amelia and fiancé Alec, Jennifer & Gust: Colt, Cade, Cam, Daniel & Taryn: Campbell, Crew, Julie & Darryl: Lance, Reid, Meghan & Shawn: Faith, Colton, Shawn, Jr., Taylor and partner Jonathon, Victoria & Chris: Audriana, Kristina: Jasmyn, Antone & April, Ashley & Ron: Hailie, Kaden, Lauren & Andrew: Luca, Avery, Cato, Rachel and partner Jack, Thomas and partner Courtney, Ellie and partner Dominic 

Final arrangements are in the care of Sly Family Funeral Home in Middlefield. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. A private celebration of life and graveside burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
