Eli J. “Bim” Byler, 76 of Champion, formerly of Mesopotamia, passed away at his home Saturday February 21, 2026, with his loving family at his side. He was born April 15, 1949, in Middlefield, Ohio to the late, John and Mary (Detweiler) Byler. He was a member of the Amish Old Order Church # 103 B. Bim worked for Johnson Rubber for many years and then for the Haven safe Farm.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Alta (Troyer) Byler, children, Mary Ann Byler, Aden Byler, Betty Ann (Jay) Miller, Jon Jon Byler, Sara Jane (Matt) Kuhns, his siblings, John “Smily” (Fannie “Betz) Byler, Sarah (Allan) Fisher, Emma Byler-Durham, Esther (Charlie) Ricer, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Dan, Jake, and Andy Byler.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 AM Tuesday February 24, 2026, at 6491 Downs Road Champion, Ohio with Bishop Eli M. Byler officiating. Visitation will be anytime until the morning of the service. Bim’s final resting place will be in Prentice Road Cemetery, Champion, Ohio.
