Eleanor Ann Fricker, 88, of Middlefield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Stone Creek Assisted Living in Alliance, Ohio
Born on December 29, 1937, in Middlefield, Ohio, Eleanor was the daughter of Charles Schwendeman and Eleanor Tullius. A lifelong resident of the area, Ellie took pride in serving the community of Middlefield Village, where she worked over 20 years with the last 9 years as Village Administrator.
Ellie enjoyed life’s simple pleasures like reading, and treasured time spent with many dear friends playing cards, games and bowling. She will be remembered for her caring spirit, love of family, and the many memories shared with those closest to her.
She is survived by her sons, Ken (Terry) Fricker and David (Jennifer) Fricker; daughters, Denise Villers and Mona Hartshorn; sister, Gertrude Hall; grandchildren: Rob (Amy) Fricker, Adam (Jamie) Fricker, Katie (Doug) Martin, Andrea (Artie) Davis, Crystal (Cody) Kick, Brian (Suzzanne) Hartshorn, April (Paul) Petersen, Rachel (Michael) Leonard, Tyler (Caroline Chiu) Hartshorn, Andrew Fricker, Rhys Fricker, and Brodie Fricker; great-grandchildren: Christopher, Lucas, Grace, Elijah, Faith, Noah, Isabel, Juliet, Dottie, Rory, and Maeve.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Charles Schwendeman, Roy Schwendeman, Francis Schwendeman, Ralph Schwendeman, and Paul Schwendeman; son-in-law Scott Villers, and great-granddaughter Fen.
Family and friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield, Ohio, where funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Will Coley officiating. Ellie will be laid to rest at Middlefield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's.
