Edwin Dale Jackson 84 of Burton passed peacefully in his home surrounded by family on December 28, 2024. Born to Donald (Mike) & Francis Jackson on December 21, 1940, in Troy, Ohio.
Ed was married to his high school sweetheart, Alberta (Birdie) for 64 beautiful years. Married on June 18, 1960.
He graduated from Newbury High School in 1958. He was President of his Senior Class, played football & was homecoming King. He was also a member of the Newbury Jaycees. He worked at Jackson Lumber and Fence his entire life until retirement where he was president of the company for over 35 years. Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the NRA, White Tails Unlimited, Safari Club International and a Life Member of The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He served as Chairman and volunteered at the Elk banquet for many years. He was also an usher for over 30 years and life member of St Helens Church.
Ed is proceeded in death by his parents Donald and Francis, brother Donald, sister Jean and other family members who passed too soon
Ed is survived by his Wife Alberta (Birdie), children Mike (Toni) Jackson, Todd (Kim) Jackson, Joe (Tina) Jackson, Lori Jackson (Crea), 8 grandchildren (12 including spouses) and 3 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and family to celebrate Edwin’s life on Thursday January 2, 2025, from 4-8pm at Sly Funeral Home 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield, Ohio 44062. A funeral service will be on Friday January 3, 2025, at 11am at St Helen Catholic Church 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury, Ohio 44065
