Edward Fredrick Volk, 82, of Middlefield, formerly of South Russell, passed away peacefully with his wife and Family by his side on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
Edward was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Leonard and Margaret (nee Graham) on October 25, 1941.
He graduated from Garfield Hts. High school in 1959 and then went on to serve in the US Air Force. After his service, he worked as an electrician for Local Union 38 IBEW.
Edward lived to love and care for his family. He was funny, always personable, and helpful to anyone who needed a hand. He was “Head of Repairs” fixing things around the farm, home, and Statuary Shop, a great storyteller, and loved a good prank or joke.
He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 57 years Louise (nee Popek), children Matt, Derek, and Lana Bednarek (Craig), along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Beside his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his loving siblings, Dolores, Kenneth, Jacqueline, and Lenore.
Calling hours will be held at Sly Family Funeral Home on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 3:00-5:00 PM.
At 5:00 PM the Burton American Legion will officiate a service with Military Honors, followed by a time of sharing.
