Edward “Ed” B. Byler, 56 of Orwell, Ohio passed away on Wednesday evening, September 20, 2023, with his family gathered around him.
Ed was born in Grove City Pa, to the late Ben and Mary (Troyer) Byler, on November 14, 1966. He married his wife Katie in April 1993.
He was known to be a “Jack of all trades.” He was the owner of Solid Rock Builders, Coffee Corner Coal, and Ed & Son Enterprise LLC. Over the years he worked for Hershberger Manufacturing and Lumber Tiger Manufacturing.
Ed was a great storyteller, and he was the best at telling “bad” dad jokes. Those that knew him would say he had a knee slapping laugh. And most importantly, he would talk about Jesus to anyone he met along the way.
Ed will be greatly missed by his wife, Katie, Son Tyler, and his siblings, Marie (Daniel) Miller, William (Nancy) Byler, Daniel (Martha) Byler, Fannie Mae (Henry) Byler and Betty (David) Coblentz, Irene (Lester) Coblentz and extended family, Ada(Joe) Valent, Fannie Miller, John (Sarah) Weaver, Mary (Crist) Yoder, Crist (Rosemary) Weaver, Ida Schmucker, Andy (Linda) Weaver, Barbara (Robert) Byler, Joe (MaryAnn) Weaver, Jerry (Esther) Weaver, Melvin (Sarah) Weaver, Danny (Mary) Weaver, Martha (Ray) Slabaugh and Betty (Mike) Baker, and many nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by in infant sons, Dominic and Zachary Byler, and his 2 sisters, Esther and Ellen Byler, and in-laws, Joe and Katie Weaver.
Calling Hours will be held at Sly Family Funeral Home 15670 West High Street. Middlefield Ohio on Tuesday September 26, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 PM. The Funeral will also take place at Sly Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Hostetler officiating. His final resting place will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland, Ohio.
