Doris W. (Whitlam) Kennell

Doris W. Kennell, 95, of Middlefield, formally of Willoughby, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2023. Doris was born in Cleveland Ohio on January 6, 1928. Doris and her sister Charlotte were raised by her father, the late, Floyd Whitlam, her grandmother, and great aunt. She graduated in 1945 from Chagrin Falls high school and attended Ohio University. She married Simon “Sam” Kennell in 1951 and they were married for 72 years. She was a homemaker but also worked for the Cleveland Clinic as a clerk in her younger years.

Doris enjoyed traveling, camping, and taking family vacations. She also liked game night, playing cards, crocheting, and knitting. She was also a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Middlefield.

Doris will be greatly missed by her husband Sam, son Tom (Paula) Kennell, and daughter Linda O’Donnell, grandchildren Brendan (Katie) O’Donnell, Matthew O’Donnell, Kerry (Chris) Weichsel, Casey O’Donnell, Tommy Kennell, Andy Kennell, Jim Kennell and great grandchildren, James O’Donnell, Stella O’Donnell, Hudson Weichsel and Sierra Weichsel. She was preceded in death by her father, and sister Charlotte LeForge.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
