Donald Tretera Obituary

Donald F. Tretera, age 79, of Parkman passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday January 19th, 2022. He was born January 28th, 1942, in Cleveland to the late Frank and Pauline (Cerha) Tretera. Donald was a graduate of Orange High School. Going forward, Donald served with the US Army National Guard. He worked as an elevator mechanic as a member of The Elevator Constructors Local 17. He volunteered at the Geauga Parks where he was a Bluebird Box Doc for over 20 years. In addition, Donald was a member of the Crooked Creek Conservation Club in Rome, Ohio. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, family, his dogs, and many friends.
 
He will be missed by his loving wife, Frances (Klouda) Tretera. Donald and Frances were married February 5th, 1966 and were happily married for nearly 54 years. He is also survived by his daughters, Betsy (Kenny) Hillyard, Anne (Patrick) Fisher; his grandchildren, Maddie and Simon Fisher; his siblings, Allen (Helen) Tretera, Elaine Tabor, and Linda Reed. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his sister, Nadine Grunt 
 
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Friday January 28th, 2022, from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield, Ohio 44062. A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.  
 
Memorial donations can be made to Friends of Mike, 8346 State Route 45, North Bloomfield, Ohio 44450 or to the Geauga County Dog Warden, 12513 Merritt Road, Chardon OH 44024.
