David Paul Mullett, 81 of Burton passed away Monday May 25, 2020 at UH Main in Cleveland. He was born February 18, 1939 in Burton to the late Albert and Amanda (Gingerich) Mullett. He graduated from Burton High School in 1958. In 1961, David graduated from Central Technical Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, with a degree in electronic engineering technology and then worked for Boeing Co. for a year, before serving in the US Army for the next 2 years. He later worked at NASA, Ardac USA, Tenna Corp., and for many years with his brother Owen at Mullett Co., from which he retired at the age of 70. That same year after retirement, he put a new roof on the family home by himself. He married his soul mate and love of his life, Lynette Speidel on June 26, 1965. David was an active member of Burton Congregational Church, United Church of Christ. He assisted as one of the caretakers of the church, sang in the choir, and volunteered in the Burton Food Cupboard. He was a wonderful father and excellent caregiver of his wife. An honest man, he enjoyed working on cars, TVs, radios, and anything mechanical. He shared a birthday exactly one year after Lynette’s; she called him her 1st birthday present.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Lynette, daughters, Rebecca (Clark) Gerber of Novelty, Ramona (Sean) Crawford of Waltham, Massachusetts, brother, Jim Mullett, sisters, Ada Larson, Bette Fairbanks, many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his 6 brothers, Bill, Sam, John, Albert, Cal, Owen, 3 sisters Ann Judd, Ruth Mullett, and Sarah Cofer.
His body is being laid to rest at a Private Graveside Service in Welton Cemetery officiated by Pastor Bob Richardson. Social distancing and the wearing of masks will be observed to protect the health of the community.
At a later date a Memorial Service will be held at the church.
