Darrell Leroy Phillips, age 85, of Middlefield, passed away on October 21, 2020. He was born on November 10, 1934, in Mecca, Ohio, the son of Milton and Marjorie Phillips (both deceased); Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Betty, nee Nesterak) for 64 years (married Jan. 7, 1956).
Loving father of Darlene Podboy (Gary), Debbie Manfredi (John), and Denise Barnhart (Jeff); beloved grandfather of Derek Podboy (Whitney), Kristen Ross (Jim), Devin Podboy (Katie), Angela Manfredi, Ryan Manfredi, and Brandon Barnhart. Dear great-grandfather of Dawson Podboy, Cali Ross, Henry Podboy, and Hunter Podboy. Brother of Milton Phillips (deceased), Merle Phillips, Mavis (Sis) Free, and Joyce Balough, also his dog “Buffy”.
Darrell proudly served his country as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force. He retired from Flambeau Products in Middlefield after 39 years in 1996, the last few years as the lead of the machine shop. Darrell enjoyed travelling with his family, woodworking, fishing, supporting Cleveland sports teams, and Sunday dinners with his family.
A private service was held at Sly Family Funeral Home followed by burial at Middlefield Cemetery.
