Chardon- Craig A. Calvert, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 9, 2022 at UH-Geauga Hospital. He was born on May 23, 1963 in Willoughby, Ohio the son of William Charles and Mary Jane (nee Todd) Calvert. Craig graduated from Willoughby South High School Class of 1981. A tool and die maker, he recently retired in 2021 from Conn Selmer, and previously had worked for many years at the Wire Shop.
Music was a passion of Craig’s, he loved playing music and was an accomplished singer, guitarist, and keyboard player. He wrote several songs and enjoyed playing in the band, “In the shadow.” Craig was a great conversationalist, always entertaining others and making them laugh. As much as he claimed he didn’t like cats, he always had a cat or two in his home.
He is survived by his children, Nicole (James) Calvert-Marquiss, Sasha (Lewill, Sr.) Brown, Alan Calvert, and Jeanine Calvert; grandchildren, Addison Marquiss, Terrance, Ava, Lewill, Jr., and Amaya Brown; his brother, William Todd Calvert; and he leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved wife, Alma (nee Francey) Calvert.
Calling hours will be held, Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 5PM-7PM at the Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield, Ohio where a funeral service will follow at 7:00PM. The family encourages family and friends to share a story of Craig during the service.
