Charles Kennedy Obituary

Charles “Chuck” Allen Kennedy, age 67, passed away peacefully at his home on November 29, 2022 following a courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Linda Rzeszotarski Kennedy, who stood by his side from day one, his daughters Amanda Gibbons, Amy (Tim) Ashcraft, and Rachael Kennedy, his son Shawn Bungard and his stepchildren Thomas (Jen) Kartley and Melissa (Matt) St. Amand.  He is also survived by the lights of his life, his grandchildren Justin, Destiny “Dezi”, Alexandria “Allie”, Dylan “DJ”, Nathaniel “Nick”, Elaine, Zariah, Riley, Chester “CJ”, Thomas, Natalie and Bryce “Tiger”.  Also, his siblings Margaret “Peg” (Don) Mullenax, John (Jean) Kennedy, Gary (Karen) Dimsdale, and Linda (Chuck) Dyson along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was met in heaven by his parents John Kennedy and Betty Jane Brown Kennedy Dimsdale and his stepdad Jack Dimsdale.  He was also met by his brothers James “Jimbo” Kennedy and Ronald “Fuzz” Kennedy, sisters Sue Ellen Kennedy and Patricia “Patty” Dimsdale and his stepson Christopher “Chris” Kartley.
Anyone who knew Chuck knew he never left the house without a hat on his head and this man was a man of many hats.  He not only had a collection of hats but he had many amazing accomplishments giving him the many hats throughout his life.  From his younger years of wearing a military camo hat, to his older years of Kennedy Haflinger, Kennedy Excavating, Linda’s Restaurant, or maybe even United Airlines.  Whatever hat it was, he wore it proudly.

He was a very hard worker all his life.  He was a Vietnam veteran, he worked for Mahan Packing Co., and retired from United Airlines.  He also owned an excavating company, a greenhouse, and he and Linda owned Linda’s Restaurant and possibly his favorite, hauling company for the Amish community.  He loved to be in his truck and is where he made many of his lifelong best friends.  All of the young kids loved to see him pull in with his pocket full of dollar bills that he would pass out to all of them.

Chuck enjoyed working hard and being with his family in his spare time. He was a car guy.  In his younger years you could find him under the hood of a car or at a demolition derby but as he got older you would find him taking his gems to a local car show or going to an auction or sale, checking out antique tractors, at a tractor or pony pull or showing his horses with his family.  He was the king of bringing home all kinds of animals for the family farm throughout the years.  He passed down his passion for horses, small engines, cars and tractors to his grandchildren and loved every second of knowing that!
