Carrie Lee “Tootsie” Brilla, age 100, of Burton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home November 21, 2020. She was born September 9, 1920 to the late J. Brooks and Minnie Marvel (Downs) Davis. After high school, she joined the United States Navy during World War II as a code breaker and communications specialist and achieved the rank of Specialist (SP2). She married the love of her life, Joseph Brilla and enjoyed 55 years of marriage prior to his death in 2001. She enjoyed reading, puzzle books, and dogs and cats. She loved spending time with her family. She will be truly missed.
She is survived by her daughter Jeanne (Dr. Robert) Booms of Churchville, NY, son Joseph Jr. (Linda Zeiter) Brilla of Burton, granddaughter Dr. Jessica (Dr. Marc) Metz, and great grandson Michael Metz. Besides her parents, Carrie was preceded in death by brothers John Davis, James Davis, William Davis, and sister Helen Gibbons.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Overlook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rescue Village,
