Carol June Zmarzly 85 of Auburn passed away Saturday February 3, 2024. She was born October 6, 1938 in Cleveland to the late Edward and Irene (Budzilek) Kanieski. She met the love of her life and married Leonard Zmarzly on July 6, 1955. Carol was a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church, was the co-owner of Dairy King in Newbury for 20 years, volunteered at the Geauga County Sheriff’s office in crime prevention, and was a Home Aid for the Metzenbaum Center for many years. But the biggest love of her life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Leonard, children, Tom Zmarzly, Edward Zmarzly, Lori Ann Zmarzly, Niki (Allan) Butler, Joseph Zmarzly, grandchildren, Casey, Haley, Josh, Keaton, Katie, Ashley, Johnny, Chloe, Jay, Aron, Ella, Noah, 2 great grandchildren, Palmer, and Wyatt. She is also survived by a sister, Rosemary Podwoski. Carol was preceded in death by her son, Jay Zmarzly, and brothers, Edward Jr., Jerome, James, and Norman.
Memorial Calling Hours will be held Thursday February 15, 2024, at 9:00 AM until her Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Rd, Newbury, OH 44065, with Father Jay McPhillips officiating.
