Boleslaw “Bill” J. Gierlach, 98, of Burton, formerly of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. Born in Warsaw, Poland to the late John and Mary Gierlach.
Bill was a long-time employee of Burton Rubber and finally retired for the 3rd time in 2003.
During WW11in Poland, he assisted the US and their Allies in the underground operation.
He loved gardening and baking. Many were the recipients of his baked goods and vegetables from his garden. He was involved in his church, and he had a buddy in his dog Missy.
Bill will be greatly missed by his children, sons Robert Gierlach, James (Dorothy) Gierlach, Richard (Marci)Gierlach and daughters, Irene (Russell) Anderson, Lisa (Joe Lobdell) Gierlach, and Annette (Tom) Slawinski, as well as 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Donna (Stankiewicz) Gierlach and siblings, Peter, John, Stanley, and Anna.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at St.Edward church 16150 Center St, Parkman, OH at 1:30 PM with Father Jacob Bearer officiating. Burial following service at All Souls Cemetery Chardon, Ohio.
