Betty Lou Gingerich, age 88 years of age, passed away peacefully on June 21 with family by her side.
Betty was born in Burton, Ohio on April 21, 1936 to the late Milo and Alta Yoder. She was the oldest of five children. Her siblings were Barbara (Sam) Hostetler, Rob (Cheryl) Yoder, Ruthie (Ken) Burnett and her youngest sibling Geno Yoder preceded her in death in 2019.
She married Abe Gingerich on July 3, 1954. They were married 63 years. Abe preceded her in death in October 2018. They had two children Cheryl (Tom) Detweiler and David Gingerich.
There are three grandchildren Julie (Oliver) Ludlow, Randal (Jessica) Detweiler and Rodney (Amanda) Detweiler and five great grandchildren Emberlynn, Dakota, Marlee and Nolan with another one on the way.
Betty attended New Mercies Community Church in Burton Ohio and loved spending time with her church family. She loved being with all her family. She was always quick with a joke and loved to make people laugh. She always kept busy with her hands crocheting, cooking, baking and sewing.
She drove school bus for 31 years for Berkshire School District.
Betty will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Calling hours will be at New Mercies Community Church 12767 Butternut Road, Burton from 10:00-12:00 on Wednesday, June 26; celebration of life immediately following at noon
