ARVIN R. MIGHTON, SR.
June 10, 1943 – Nov 22, 2025
Arvin R. Mighton Sr., age 82, beloved husband for 60 years of Elaine (nee Schannaker); loving father of Anthony, the late Andrew (Lisa), Art (Pam), Arvin Jr. (Leslie) and Adam (Tammie); devoted grandfather of Kyle (Nicole), Andrew-A.J., Samantha, Sydney (Samuel), Nicholas, Sophia, Arthur-L.A., Stefania, Austin, Zander, Logan, Elena and Mila; great grandfather of Luke and Madelyn; cherished son of the late Arthur and Velma (nee Mahle); dearest brother of the late Alan (Sylvia); dear uncle and great uncle to many. Arvin was proud to be a U.S. Army National Guard of Ohio Veteran 1964-1970.

Born in Cleveland Ohio, Arvin spent his entire life living in Geauga County where he graduated from Chardon H.S. in 1963. He furthered his studies at Max Hayes in automotive technologies. He became known as Doc Arv the automotive expert. His early career was spent working for dealerships in various management positions. He later owned and managed A&M Auto Medic where he restored vehicles into works of art.
Arvin’s favorite pastime was spending time with his family. He was a friend to everyone. Giving of his time, kind, humble and a loving man. Arvin was also a pet lover, enjoyed NASCAR and became a NASCAR collector. He also had much enthusiasm for classic cars, especially corvettes.
Arvin will be lovingly missed by all who knew him.
Calling hours to celebrate Arvin’s life will be held at Sly Funeral Home in Middlefield, Ohio on Monday, December 1st from 4:00-7:00pm.
Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 401 North Street, Chardon at 10:30AM. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. A celebration of life luncheon to follow for family and close friends at The Lodge at Bass Lake Tavern in Chardon.
