Arthur Honsaker Obituary

Arthur “Art” Honsaker, 66
Beloved father, Christian, Army veteran, and hard-working soul

Art Honsaker, 66, of Parma Heights, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at Louis Stokes VA Medical Center, surrounded by those who loved him dearly. A proud U.S. Army veteran, dedicated HVAC technician, and long-haul truck driver, Art lived a life defined by perseverance, humility, and deep loyalty to his family and country.

Born in Warren, Ohio on February 19, 1959, to the late Cecil and Erma (Carr) Honsaker, Art moved with his family to Ohio as a child, where he was raised and shaped by the values of hard work and grit. He later made Cleveland his home, raising a family and building a life anchored in love and quiet strength.

Art served honorably in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne Division/Calvary Scout, carrying with him a lifelong sense of duty and pride in having served his country. After his military service, he worked as a truck driver and an HVAC technician—always willing to put in the long hours, always dependable.

Though he didn’t seek the spotlight, Art had a big heart and a deep well of generosity. He was a man who could fix just about anything, offer advice when it mattered most, and show up when people needed him. He found joy in the simple things: a good conversation, reading his Bible, sharing his faith, and time spent with his family.

He will be sadly missed by his loving daughters, Victoria (Jon) Frischkorn, Amanda (Brandon) Honsaker, Bridgette (Rafael) Salas, and son Avery Stepp, his siblings, Cecil (Tami) Honsaker, Jackie (Russ) Janas, and Eugene "Keith" (Paula) Honsaker, and Mark Honsaker; grandchildren Alberto, Logan, Haley, Riley, Connor, and Paxton; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his twin brother Robert Honsaker, brother Donny Honsaker, niece Vienna Aponte and great niece Miranda Aponte.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 PM with his Funeral Service at 4:00 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W.
