Anna M. Hollo, 92, of Burton passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Anna was born February 7, 1929, in Burton Station to the late Solomon and Evelina (Hile) Luoma. Anna married John S. Hollo in 1948. She was a homemaker and later worked at Heather Hill Nursing Home in the laundry department until she retired.
Anna was an avid football fan, who enjoyed cheering on the Berkshire Badgers and Cleveland Browns each fall. Anna volunteered several years working at the Log Cabin in Burton’s Circle. She was an amazing baker and known to deliver her cookies to family, friends, and workers all over town. Anna loved playing cards and would quickly rope you into a game of Cadillac or Rummy when visiting. She adored dogs and often loved on and cared for her family members’ dogs Gracie, Skip, and Carson.
Anna will be greatly missed by her daughters, Bonnie (Bobby) Larson, Lori Hollo, and son, John Hollo, Jr., along with her nine grandchildren: Chad (Ginnie) Petrik, Jason (Cindy) Petrik, Kyle (Dawn) Blair, Sonya (Mike) Morris, Derek (Brooke) Arnold, Charles (Kristin) Blair, Jr., Swedell (Charles) Simmons, Brianna Blair, and John (Doris) Hollo III. In addition, Anna took great pride and joy in her eighteen great-grandchildren: Ashley, Colby, Ava, Megan, Cohen, Nolan, Austin, Charles III, Owen, Logan, Liam, Jared, Charles Avery, Danny, Carson, Andrew, Evelyn, and John IV.
Anna is the last of her siblings, as she was preceded in death by her seven brothers: William, Emil, Martin, Gus, Wayne, Kit, and Neilo. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John, and a daughter, Teresa Dallas.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 23, 2021, followed by her memorial service at 12:00 PM, at the Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield, Ohio 44062. She will be laid to rest with her husband following the service at Welton Cemetery, Burton Village, Ohio.
