Pauline R (Rowland) James

Pauline Rowland James, age 98, longtime resident of West Farmington, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Peggy Feathers Adult Care Facility in Warren, OH. She was born in Chicago, IL on February 6, 1921, daughter of Clyde and Bessie (Patchin) Rowland. Pauline married Carmon James April 8, 1939. They were married 54 loving years until he died in 1993. She started working for the Farmington Senior Center in 1995 till she was 93 years old. She was a member of the Women’s Relief Corp and collected Lighthouses and dolls.

Pauline is survived by her brother Glenn Rowland of Cortland, two grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Carmon, her son Gearald James, one grandson, her parents, a brother Clyde Rowland Jr and her sister Hazel Manes.

Calling hours will be held 10:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM on Monday, July 29, 2019 at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062. Burial will follow at Reformed Cemetery in Southington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Farmington Senior Center, 150 College St., West Farmington, OH 44491.
