Marie Kathryn (Gordon) Evans

Marie Kathryn Evans, age 93 of Bristolville, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at her home with her family by her side. She is ‘together again” with her beloved husband Elwood. Marie was born on April 1, 1926 in Franklin Twp., Ohio, daughter of the late Bruce and Margeruite (Moore) Gordon. She was a graduate of Middlefield High School in 1944. Marie married Elwood Evans August 24, 1947. They were married 66 years before he died Oct. 27, 2013. They lived in Mesopotamia 61 years and were snowbirds 26 years. Then they moved to Zephyrhills, Florida and lived there since 2008. Recently she moved to Bristolville with her daughter. She was a member and very active with the First United Methodist Church in Bristolville, Ohio and Zephyrhills, FL. She was the sunshine lady at both churches. Marie enjoyed cooking, canning, and sewing for “Project Others”. She loved being with her family and her friends.

Marie is survived by her son James Evans, two daughters, Diana (Daryl) Zadunajsky and Sandra (Richard) Williams, four grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Elwood, her parents, and three brothers, Clay, Donald, and Cliff.

Calling hours will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of her Celebration of Life at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Bristolville United Methodist Church, 6271 Park Drive, Bristolville, OH 44402. Burial will follow at Overlook Cemetery in Parkman. In lieu of flowers, make a memorial donation in her name to Bristolville UMC, P.O. Box 234, Bristolville, Oh 44402.
