John Henry Borkholder

John Henry Borkholder, 84 of Middlefield, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at UH Geauga Medical Center. Born on May 25, 1935 in Nappanee, Indiana, son of the late Eli and Katie (Coblentz) Borkholder. John married Marilyn Kurtz April 30, 1966 and lived in Middlefield. They attended Burton Baptist Church. He was a workaholic and had a passion for working as an electrician, so he started his own business Borkholder Electric. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. 

John will be missed by his family and friends, his beloved wife Marilyn of 53 years, two daughters, Carla (Mike) Lechene of Huntsburg and Tammy (Greg) Koehn of Solon, six grandchildren, Marissa and Caitlyn Lechene, Alexis, Bailey, Gabriel and Garrett Bearss, two sisters, Amanda Lapp and Ada Borkholder and his brother Raymond Borkholder. He is preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Christine Bearss, four brothers, Daniel, Jacob, Joseph, Menno, and four sisters, Sara Borkholder, Clara Hochstetler, Anna Ropp, and Emma Miller.

Calling hours will be held 1:00-5:00 PM Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 21, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Middlefield Cemetery.
