Elwyn "Bus" L Satterlee

Elwyn L “Bus” Satterlee, age 91 longtime resident of West Farmington, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Washington Square Nursing Home in Warren. Born on November 17, 1927 in Mesopotamia, he was a son of the late Fred M. and Cora V. (Champlain) Satterlee. He lived in Mesopotamia until 1953 and moved to West Farmington. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II.  Elwyn was married to Alma June (Ulrich) Satterlee who passed away Sept. 26, 1977. He was married to Florence V (Rice) Satterlee until she passed asway March 20, 2019.  Elwyn worked for Johnson Rubber Co. for over 48 years. He also owned a dairy farm. He loved farming and raising cows and goats. He especially loved to talk to friends and being with his family who loved him dearly.

Elwyn is survived by his five loving children, Elwyn Jr. (Billie) Satterlee, Larry (Phyllis) Satterlee, Rose Devlin, Richard Satterlee, all from W. Farmington and Carol (Mark) Veits of Southington, five step-children, Patricia (Ronald) Bouck, Virginia Hoffman, Ronald (Laraine) Hoffman, Larry (Cheri) Hoffman, and Donald Hoffman, 22 grandchildren,40 great grandchildren, and 5 great- great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Cora, his 1st wife Alma June Satterlee, 2nd wife Florence V. Satterlee, his son-in-law James Devlin, daughter-in-law Loretta Satterlee, his granddaughter April Satterlee, two brothers, Robert And Arthur Satterlee and his sister Audrey Person.

Calling hours will be held 5:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, May 15, 2019 and 11:00 AM until the Celebration of his Life at 12:00 Noon Thursday, May 16, 2019, all at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
