Betty Abram Obituary

 

Betty Alice Abram, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away September 24, 2019, at the age of 92.  She was born in Ashland, Ohio and lived the last 56 years in Middlefield.  She was the daughter of the late Albert and Alice (Gantz) McCracken.  She was a graduate of Ashland High School, where she was salutatorian of her class and known for her academic excellence, athletic ability, and friendliness.  Betty married the love of her life, Thomas Abram March 30, 1947, and were married for 58 years, until his death in 2005.  She has missed him for the last 14 years. She was a fabulous homemaker who doted on her husband and family.  She was an active member of the Middlefield UMC and Friends of the Library, a talented seamstress, and loved entertaining friends and family.

Betty is survived by her daughter Cheri (Greg) Sykora, three grandchildren, Joshua (Erin) Sykora, Alfred (Kelly) Hirsh, Justin (Morgan Gladding) Hirsh, and four great-grandchildren Abram Sykora, Hannah Michelle Hirsh, Scotty Hirsh, Kahlen Sykora, and her son-in-law Kurt Schwendeman.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas, her daughter Michelle Abram Schwendeman, two brothers and one sister.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 3:00 – 4:30 PM followed by a Celebration of her life at the First United Methodist Church, 14999 S State Ave, Middlefield, OH 44062.

… But those who hope in the Lord shall renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint. May God hold her in the palm of his hand.  She will be dearly missed.
