Marilyn French,82, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 8, 2024.
Marilyn was born to the late Harry E. and LaVoila E. (Dixon) Munson on April 24, 1941, in Middlefield, Ohio.
She graduated in 1959 from Bloomfield High School and got her bachelor’s degree in education from Case Western Reserve in 1963 and also married her best friend Roger in 1963, and they had 3 children.
Marilyn was very involved in her community. She was a teacher at Bristol/Farmington and Champion elementary schools before retiring in 2003. She was a member of the Bristol Community Church, formally Bristolville United Methodist Church, was a leader in Rainbow Girls, was an Eastern Star Past Matron, CCL, on the Bristolville Ladies Fire Auxiliary, and involved in the Mary Margaret Circle.
Marilyn liked to quilt, read, sew, making many outfits for her children, involved in the girls Brownie group, Girl Scouts and 4H. She loved bird watching and she loved going to Geneva on the Lake to collect Periwinkle shells.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Roger, children, Brian (MJ) French, Tami (Tim) Pleso, Amy (Tracy) Ulrich, brother Harry “Sunny” (Dot) Munson Jr.,grandchildren Carly Ulrich, Heidi ( James ) Lampkin, Trevor (Anna Robison) Ulrich, Matthew (Sami) Pleso, Andrew (Abbey) Pleso, Anna Pleso, Ellis French, Natalie French, and 6 great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday April 11, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home. 15670 W. High Street Middlefield. The funeral will be held on Friday April 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Bristol Community Church 6271 Park Drive, Bristolville with Pastor Dale Briggs officiating. Burial will take place at Sager Memorial Cemetery immediately following the service.
